This training guide is designed to be used as needed and it is
not necessarily a start to finish type of activity. For example: If
you want to get inside the heads of some of your student Veterans,
then listening to some of the clips in Chapter 3 is the place to
go. If you need quick information on TBI as it relates to war
injuries, begin with Chapter 2. If you just want to see if your VRC
looks like some of the others, then take the tours in Chapter
5.
Use it as you will, but here are my top ten suggestions:
- There are over 50 video clips (all captioned), so make some
popcorn.
- The sound quality varies as did the locations of the VRC tours,
trainings and interviews. None of these clips were done in a studio
setting. For the best sound quality and volume adjustment,
headphones are recommended.
- The clips are of all different lengths. The really long meaty
presentations have been broken into parts (at natural break points)
for easier buffering and watching.
- Make more popcorn.
- The icons catalogued on the next page will guide you to various
features in the training. Learn them, use them, they are your
friends.
- All clips are in the mp4 format and should play on most
computers. All clips were done in a high quality (for internet)
resolution. Buffering times will vary based on your equipment and
your connection. Please be patient on some of the larger ones.
- Other live links display in a brownish gold color.
- Often still photographs are links. For example: If you want the
biography of any of the experts in Chapter 4, click on their
photographs. When in doubt, click about.
- If you have information (media, written, PowerPoints etc.) that
you feel should be included, please send it to me and we will do
what we can do.
- When you run out of popcorn, stop.
