Sam Makes Some Calls...
By the time I got to City College of San Francisco,
I had been on the road for almost two weeks. I had eaten Easter
dinner at Taco Bell and was sure that I did not have enough
socks and other things to last until the end of the
trip.
Anyway, I digress. To the left is Sam. I met Sam upon opening
the door to the VRC and realizing that, while in the right place
for filming, I was in the wrong place for meeting my contact. Oh
well!
I had just walked up a very steep grade carrying my gear bag and
camera (although after two weeks on the road, the bag had been
pared down to only the essentials) and realized I was
lost. Sam took pity on me and started to make some calls to
find Sunny Clark, Associate Dean of Student Health Services.
While waiting for Sunny, I told Sam what we were doing and he
agreed to give me a tour of the VRC. I had to promise not to
film him, just to get his voice, while I filmed the room. By the
end of the shoot, he agreed to go on camera. Actually, by this
time the camera was pointing right at him and he really had little
choice. It really wasn't my fault, he just did not move out of the
way fast enough. Regardless, he gave a great tour and I greatly
appreciated the help. Thanks, Sam!
The following clips are of City College of San
Francisco students and faculty talking about the Veterans
Resource Center and the important role it plays in serving as a
focal point and service portal for the student Veterans on
campus. I apologize to Sam (Army) about the music.
