This section will
first explore the history of survival, how devastating injuries
have gone from certain death to almost certain life. We
will look at the outstanding medical services that enable more
to survive today's battlefield than ever before. Once
the service member is back among the living, what will that life be
like? What will it take to welcome home and to the college
campus those who have literally put life and limb on the line
