Beginning in
fiscal year 2000-2001, funds were allocated through DSPS to
specifically address services to visually impaired students under
the title "OFF-LINE CAPTIONING FUNDS". The funds were to be used
for the captioning of existing video tapes. In April 2006, the
DSP&S Regional Coordinators reviewed and approved changes that
broaden and update the activities for which these funds may be
used. In 2006-07 the funds will be distributed proportionately to
all colleges using the original formula and the program will be
identified as "ACCESS TO PRINT AND ELECTRONIC
INFORMATION".
