Explanation of the allocation formula - Randy Fong, Chancellor's Office (2008)
Special Class Revenue Calculations / spreadsheet. Chancellor's Office (2011) This tool had been on Chancellor's Office website, with last year's reported FTES / Special Class revenue included, under the title "Special Class Rates Data / Budget Estimate." The Chancellor's Office has now dropped in the FTES from your 2009-10 EOY reports, and so this now shows the final figures used to calculate your college's Special Class revenue. That figure was then used in the recently released College Effort calculations, and so ultimately in your final allocations. The new updated link is now called: " Special Class Rates FTES Revenue Calculations."

Beginning in fiscal year 2000-2001, funds were allocated through DSPS to specifically address services to visually impaired students under the title "OFF-LINE CAPTIONING FUNDS". The funds were to be used for the captioning of existing video tapes. In April 2006, the DSP&S Regional Coordinators reviewed and approved changes that broaden and update the activities for which these funds may be used. In 2006-07 the funds will be distributed proportionately to all colleges using the original formula and the program will be identified as "ACCESS TO PRINT AND ELECTRONIC INFORMATION".
