This
handbook incorporates the requirements of Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA), with a particular focus on student access in the California
Community Colleges. The ADA may be viewed as "the child" of Section
504 - an offspring which is more powerful and wider ranging in the
anti-discrimination protection it provides to individuals with
